My gym was closed today dammit but I did make it through the 4 1/2 mile Grand Hill challenge in about 56 minutes. My local boys at the El Segundo Brewing Company actually named one of their IPAs after Grand Hill. If you look closely at the label you can see people struggling up it.

I was a real American and just finished grilling Bavarian bratwurst for lunch. Plus some grilled green onions and grilled pineapple.

This morning, my wife and I finished demolishing our kitchen to save a bit of time and money on our remodel. I woke up to throw a pork shoulder (that’s been marinating for two days) in the crockpot for pulled pork this afternoon. I have the suace for said pulled pork currently simmering. And will be lounging in the pool with my wife and daughter soon enough.

It’s too damn hot out for grilling (it’s noon and already 80 degrees; stated high of 96), but I just made some delicious shoulder bacon BLTs for me and the girlfriend (toasted just the inside of the bread in the bacon fat, like a boss). We’re going to go see Magic Mike XXL with another couple later on, because nothing is more American than Channing Tatum’s abs (and Kevin Nash’s busted knees). Oh, and Ginuwine’s ‘Pony’ is like our second national anthem, right? Also, a big, dark air conditioned space sounds awesome. Anyhow, I’m going to post about it tomorrow.

First order of business is the morning walk. Today I’m going west on Imperial Highway heading south along Vista Del Mar to El Porto then climbing that bastard of a hill on Grand before heading to Main Street and back home. It’s about 4 and 1/2 miles with a “difficult” rating.

So wow, it looks like three of us dropped posts at almost exactly the same time. I’ve deleted mine (it was very short) but basically my plan for today is to do some gardening and then do some grilling. And them some drinking.
