There’s a British horror film called “My Little Eye” that I saw a bit of a ways back. It’s not a particularly memorable film except that it used a lot of night vision effects and was one of Bradley Cooper’s first film roles. The premise is that five people inhabit a house, Big Brother style, with the prospect of collection a share of prize money if they serve out their term despite various offputting hijinks unleashed on them by the show’s creators. As the contestants eventually learn, to their horror, the “reality show” is actually just a setup for a snuff film, with gamblers placing bets on the order in which the contestants will die. At the end, the last virgin standing escapes the house and falls into the arms of a police officer, only for him to handcuff her and later shoot her in the back as she tries to run off into the woods.  The film ends with a shot of a TV monitor showing her lying on the floor of a locked room, bleeding and moaning and whimpering in fear, before the camera is switched off and the final credits roll.  That’s kind of how the end of this football season felt to me.  Here’s the song that plays.
