There was a very fine DFO confab at the venerable Pacific Dining Car restaurant near downtown Los Angeles today. $0.98 “baseball steaks” were consumed and mine was pretty darn good. Also served were sides of Maine lobster mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potato, and creamed spinach. PDC is open 24-hours-a-day, and it’s very “old-school” but finely appointed with lots of secret rooms and is very mysterious and there ain’t no hobos in there because everything costs at least $50. It ain’t cheap, unless you score with a $0.98 baseball steak!

If you’re ever in the city, JFK now has a TWA-themed hotel, complete with fuselage in the hotel bar.
I just stayed there on September 26th, the day before the grand opening! It was awesome! Every drink cost $25, so bring a flask.
