Your “Was I Snoring Too Loud?” Friday Evening Open Thread

This week’s theme is a suggestion by some person who may or may not be known by the moniker of Rikki-Tikki-Deadly.

You can’t prove anything!!!!!!!

Frankly, when the suggestion was made, I was ashamed of myself that I hadn’t already thought of it myself.  Honestly.

IMHO there are very few things that are as attractive to me than a smrt woman wearing pajamas, and also maybe little white socks.  Oh, those little white socks.

That always was one of my weaknesses.  And maybe she is also all bundled up because it’s cold out.  Or in.  Or whatever.

If she brings me soup?

Or even a shot of freezer vodka.  Well either way, that’s just a BONUS!!!!!

But in all seriousness…. Sometimes, less is more.  If you get my drift.  Leaving something to the imagination is not a bad thing.

But that’s our thing tonight.

PYJAMIES!!!!!!

We’ll get to it in just a bit.

Enjoy…

An unapologetic, even if often manic-depressive (it's a requirement given his choices of sports teams), fan of NC State University, the Baltimore Ravens and the Baltimore Orioles. When not parked in front of the computer and/or TV, can often be found on the golf course shouting obscenities to no one in particular.

Timed it perfect, walked in, got a beer and the Rev came on. Gonna say it’s medium. About half the 1.5 hr set was guest performance, and they missed out some of my favs I’m used to hearing. Still spot on, like 10+ minutes of quality drum solo, but does seem like they’re finally slowing down.

Col. Duke LaCross

He’s done that the last couple tours. He shows up here in Salt Lake every five or six months though, so I guess changing it up is cool.

I’m doing a fat guy move and making a late night fast food run. The car in front of me is clearly full of stoners who have no idea what they want, and I’m trying to stay chill unlike the non stoner I am.

Doktor Zymm

Just run up to the speaker and order them one of everything

Ship sailed but noted for future endeavors

yeah right

Asking for real life opinions.

I love my hometown of El Segundo but they’re moving real estate with a quickness out here. I can probably last another 10 years here but I’m not sure I can retire here.

Where should a person with means retire to?

It’s not limited to the US.

Help a brother.

I’d say Canada, but I don’t think the Global Warming is happening fast enough.

I’d then say Central or South America as the dollar will go very far there. The only problem is that Spanish is essential.

That leaves Belize.

yeah right

I kind of like Ecuador. I’m willing to take classes.

ballsofsteelandfury

Ecuador is great. Pretty stable and your dollar will go far. If you can get the hang of the Spanish, the entire continent opens up to you.

Montreal is having the mildest winter in years. I’m pretty sure palm trees will be growing here soon.

What was the question?

BrettFavresColonoscopy

With means? Monaco.

Doktor Zymm

Agree with the Ecuador folks. The thing they don’t mention, it’s the cheapest country in for a US citizen to get permanent residency. Only 10k investment and staying mostly in the country for 2 years. It’s on my short list

Doktor Zymm

If you need to do an English speaking country, then Malta is your best bet, but that’s gonna be 250k euro for perm res

Viva La Tabula Raza

I know many folks that are recent transplants from CA down here where I live in the Hill Country of South Central TX. I live in Comal County, apparently one of the five fastest growing counties in the fucking nation. Just paid my 2019 property taxes last week, $4900 on an assessment of $305K; I don’t feel that is excessive. Most of that is for school taxes, and I do feel that is a bit excessive, as most of my neighbors are fucking morons who vote Republican and I guess their kids are too so some educational reform seems necessary. Fuck it, come on METEOR or ASTEROID. Booze is cheap here and the grocery store will even deliver beer and wine.
Get in touch if you wanna come down and check out the low taxes and all the wineries and ignore the political ignorance, [email protected]. I have a spare side of the house where you can stay while you do exploratory forays into the Hill Country and check shit out. It is awesome physically. Only caveat is I am still convalescing from my foot surgery and will be a shitty host until I am upright again, but I can still give direction. But man, it is fucking beautiful here (came here from So Cal in 1976 and never regretted it). Probably less natural dangers than anywhere else in the hemisphere ( i.e. earthquakes mudslides hurricanes tornadoes blizzards on and on).
Get in touch. 210-627-7347. We need more cool people down here.
I am drunk but still endorse this post.

Saw these guys open for Franz Ferdinand 15 years ago. Meh. Scots Franz Ferdinand are phenomenal.

yeah right

Sparks did a collaboration with Franz Ferdinand not too long ago.

This is my rationale to post a Sparks song.

Viva La Tabula Raza

I was into Sparks for a short while back in the mid-1970’s. I’m surprised that anyone else even knows who they are. The girl who provided me with my first sexual intercoursal experience was the one who introduced me to their oeuvre.
Now I have to go do some nostalgiabation. Good night.

Gumbygirl

I love Sparks!

yeah right

Next time I get together with my granddaughters I’m going to apologize,

Then I’m going to play this for them.

Then I’m going to wish them good luck and apologize again.

Then feed them freshly baked cookies and we’ll forget what we were talking about.
