NFL News:

• Following the CBA vote extension, and Russell Okung’s complaint to the NLRB, the league & union have agreed to extend the franchise tag deadline from 4:00PM Thursday to 11:59AM Monday.
  • This does not confront anything, as the “legal tampering period” for free agency begins at noon on Monday.
  • Absent a new CBA, teams can use both a franchise and a transition tag on players.
    • However, if the new CBA is passed by the NFLPA, teams will only have either the franchise or the transition tag at their disposal.
  • The new league year, and thus all 2020 free agent signings & previously-agreed trades, begins on March 18 at 4:00PM ET.

• The Cowboys & Steelers will play in the Hall of Fame Game.
  • The game will be on Thursday, Aug. 6 at 8 p.m. ET in Canton, Ohio, at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.
    • Not that it matters, but both teams are 3-3 in previous Hall of Fame Games.
  • It’s fitting as former Steelers coach Bill Cowher and safety Troy Polamalu, along with former Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson, will be enshrined into the Hall of Fame on Saturday, Aug. 8, as members of the Centennial Class of 2020.

Now he’s on the Biden bandwagon, and boy-howdy do the Bernie Bros. in his feed have OPINIONS! It’s been interesting as a Canadian to watch the Democrats have the civil war they swore to avoid in advance of November. One has to think it might be over if Sanders can’t win a major state. Then it gets good, as I anticipate Trump Jr. & Biden Jr. will start having at each other in advance of the conventions. Mr. Scott?
