DFO Radio: Superheroes

So apparently Adam West got so keyed up over having a Request Line dedicated to superheroes that he decided to follow Chris Cornell up to the great gig in the sky.  I’m a little too young (sure you are, Rikki) to have watched much of Adam West while he was doing the Batman television show, but I certainly became familiar with him during the early days of Family Guy where he voiced himself with a willingness to push boundaries and a complete lack of concern for his own legacy that’s only been rivaled by Danny DeVito’s performance on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.  The web is filled with tributes to Adam West, so if you’re interested in reading about them here are a few links.

Here’s the music.

The old Spotify link generator is still broken, so I’m trying out a new one.  Here’s the link.

I watched a TON of Adam West Batman reruns as a kid visiting my grandma (parents refused to get cable at home until like 7th Grade) and was a huge fan. I didn’t really appreciate the camp factor until later, but then I really did enjoy West’s commitment to quirk.

Good stuff about Adam West; I am decidedly not too old to have watched him as Batman (ok, reruns, but still), and he fucking COMMITTED. Same with Family Guy. He was awesome.
