Hi everyone! Europe was great. Adele cancelled the show we were supposed to see, but we overcame those odds by drinking wine in Tuscany for 6 days. It’s how one makes do. The downside was flying home via Rome & Montreal – Lufthansa had us in the nicest of Airbuses back to Canada, and Air Canada flew us home from Montreal in the belly of a converted water bomber.

I am asking a real question here, is there anyway to get people in your life to listen to facts, even though they believe what they want to believe. Even if you show them fact after fact after fact that proves them wrong on everything they claim to be true.
I tried reaching out to a high school friend re: Trump. I told him that I didn’t want to have a debate; I just wanted to hear his perspective on the story. I didn’t offer my own. I don’t know if it moved the needle at all, but I like to think it did – if even just a tiny little bit.
Kind of like that interrogation technique of letting the subject do all the talking – they will start volunteering things to fill the empty spaces.
If they have to respond logically – by thinking about their own opinon on the subject well enough to articulate it – maybe it can prevent them from feeling like their beliefs are under assault and responding emotionally.

I know I have said this, but I absolutely hate summers in Wisconsin. We get winter that most people find terrible but I wear shorts unless the snow is too high. Then summers that are just 100% humidity all the time. We don’t get spring or fall, at best a week a piece
