I used to work in wood kilns where in the winter I’d routinely bounce between -20 and 160 degrees. The job also included cleaning out boilers that were still running and climbing stacks of lumber like some sort of bored mountain climber. It was a massive upgrade from stacking 50-150 lb boards for 10 hours a day for barely above minimum wage which I was doing before. JSD, brick, and probably others will have much more horrific stories.
