Yeah, today is Friday, October 13th.

Why are we superstitious about Friday the 13th, anyway?  I’m really not, to be honest.  Though I probably should be.

Little known fact….

I got married to my ex-wife on a Friday the 13th.  And considering how much of a horror show that turned out be?

Honestly though, that mistake was not bad luck.  It was stupidity on my part, plain and simple.  And I don’t mean because it was Friday the 13th when it happened.

Live and learn, I guess.

But this week, in honor of it being Friday the 13th, we’re going to do Sexy Girls From Horror Flicks.  I won’t be able to get to all of them, so feel free to cover any of your favorites I might miss, in the comments.

As an aside, I always used to root for Jason in the Friday the 13th movies.  First, all those dumbass teenagers needed a li’l killin’.  Second….poor Jason just wanted to be loved.  Sure, he’s a little damaged in the gourd, but aren’t we all?  Hell, he lost his mother tragically as kid, then got taunted by teenagers.  I feel where he’s coming from.

In this day and age, he’d probably end up on Tinder or some such.  And if he did, this would be his profile pic I bet….

Arrive Early For The Previews

When I thought this horror flick theme for Friday the 13th might not work well (I thought the material might be limited), ballsofsteelandfury  reminded me that horror movies have always had attractive ladies in them.  He was not wrong.

Remember this lovely lass?

Well, you should.  Even though she didn’t last too long, her big scene in Psycho is classic horror movie legend…

Fairly tame by today’s standards I suppose.  But in 1960, it was rather controversial.

These days, often the lovely ladies in horror flicks end up being the heroine.  The last one standing, as it were.  But not always.

Remember this one?

That’s Rose McGowan.  She put up a pretty good fight there, but I always did wonder why she didn’t open the garage door herself while she was at the door, rather than trying to crawl thru the doggie door with those boobs (there didn’t seem to be a lockout switch and Ghostface didn’t seem to have any problem opening it).  Oh well.

And even after a car accident and facial reconstruction, she was still as lovely as ever.

*Note to self:  Find Harvey Weinstein and punch him in the dick a few hundred times.

Somebody else we know died early in that one too, as you’ll recall.

Also, there’s also no rule whatsoever (not anymore, anyway) that says the lovelies can’t be the villain/killer/monster…

Ooooff.

Sports Which Will Haunt Your Dreams

The Iggles headed down to Charlotte last night and took down the Panthers, 28-23 Final.  I’d talk some about this game, but I really just don’t want to.  More or less…it was a not terribly cleanly played game, but the Iggles were just a bit more cleaner enough (Good grammar, ftw).

Last night, in a game which seemed like it would never freaking end even though we all knew damned well HOW  it would end (honestly, for a while I thought I’d died and discovered there really is a Hell, and watching that game and “Dusty Baker Face” for eternity was mine) ….

Oh right, the Cubs’ ass horseshoe came thru once again, as they outlast the Nats by a final of 9-8, and take the series in five.  They now move on to face the Dodgers (again) in the NLCS.  Which is the lesser of two evils?  Fuck if I know.  Go Meteor?
