Because there seem to be so many of them we’ll go directly-
TO THE GAMES!
Rook rb Moss is out with a toe ouchie so the problem for Coach McDermott now becomes, “How do I limit Singletary to under 20 touches? Hmmm…”. He’ll find a way.
I was thinking Pats for survivor because the Raiders are coming off the meaningful victory and all the hoopla surrounding their new digs, plus traveling cross-country and playing the early game vs. the Pats at home. Or I could stream the teams playing the Jets. Decisions are hard.
Much was made of the vaunted Team’s pass rush after wk. 1 and then wk. 2 happened. Quickly recapped, there was not much vaunt. Mayfield and Co. shouldn’t have much of a problem here. Shouldn’t.
Pitt’s pass rush generates pressure within 2 seconds on 44% of qb dropbacks. Look for Watson to run around a bit more than usual to counteract that.
New York will be looking Wayne Gallman’s way when they need a competent plodder (who was inactive last week) to get them 3 yards on first down. San Franny should walk away with this despite fast running out of Next Man Up’s.
Burrows is tied for second in attempted passes with 97(!) so far. Kudos for him in that he has a 3:1 TD/INT ratio. Let’s call him Joey Ice (that elbow, postgame)
Perhaps this is the week rook wr Justin Jefferson hits the smash spot-he’s playing primarily in the slot so far and would be up against an UDFA that has given up 80+ yards and a score so far.
Julio is a game-timer that didn’t practice all week. PFF has given the Bears O-line the 3rd best ranking with respect to protecting the qb, noting that they didn’t give up a single quick pressure to the Giants last week. I feel that sometimes these rankings should be adjusted for ‘quality of opponent’.
Have at it down below. We’ll have our esteemed footski commenters start things off.
